Composer. Producer. Musician. Syn-G is a multifaceted artist whose greatest strength lies in continually challenging himself and expanding creativity with every project.

Classical Roots

Born and raised in Los Angeles to musical parents, the seeds of Syn-G's musical career were planted with study of classical piano at the age of 5. Syn-G learned the discipline of classical technique with top piano teachers, including Jakob Gimpel, and soon began performing with community symphonic orchestras as a featured soloist and percussion section player. At the age of 18, Syn-G entered a Master Class with Jakob Gimpel's finest students, whose average age was twice that of his. Interpreting the music of composers Chopin, Bach, Debussy, Ravel, Stravinsky and Copland and other great classics gave Syn-G the ability to express himself through performance. The foundation had been laid for pursuit of any musical style.

Jazz and Rock Expansions

Growing up in L.A., exposure to different sounds was inescapable. The syncopation of jazz and other types of street music intrigued Syn-G, and he launched himself into its study. Given his fascination with electronics, synth keyboards were a natural fit, and Syn-G soon began touring with many well-known artists in the jazz world, including Alphonse Mouzon, Gary Bartz, Grover Washington Jr. and others. At the same time, he found rock artists who pushed music conceptually to be equally intriguing. Bands like Yes, Emerson, Lake and Palmer, King Crimson, Genesis, Peter Gabriel, The Police, and Michael Jackson became huge influences at this time.

Studio Musician

Establishing his name as a solidly creative musician, studio session work as an electronic keyboard player and synth programmer was a natural transition. Syn-G worked on numerous TV and film scores, such as "Airwolf", "Gremlins", "About Last Night", "Wierd Science", "April Fools Day", "Troy" and many others. Along the way, he added electric and acoustic guitars, and bass guitar to his already impressive skill set.

A Composer and Producer Emerges

After gaining a wealth of experience as a performer, Syn-G moved into production with the development of Syngram Recording, his personal state of the art hybrid Digital/Analog Recording Studio. It is here that Syn-G has composed music for the films "Incognito" and "Citizen Stan" along with some of the largest companies in TV and Radio commercials, including national & international campaigns for Gatorade, Exxon, Dodge, Sony, Fannie Mae, Honda, Ping, Blue Cross, Coors, Mazda, Toys R Us and many others. Through his production of musical styles for a myriad of TV and Film projects, Syn-G has become expert at furthering the director's goal of making an emotional connection to story and imagery. All the while, new sounds have continued to influence Syn-G, and he now counts Nine Inch Nails, Korn and Massive Attack as some of his favorite musicians.

Pushing the Envelope in Film Music

After an introduction to PhoenixX (Talia Bentson), Syn-G found a perfect partner to pursue his growing interests in rock and alternative music. The partnership, called Bullet Sage, combines PhoenixX’s powerful lyrics and vocals with Syn-g’s tracks, resulting in a sound that is a perfect accompaniment to imagery. Each of Bullet Sage’s songs is custom crafted for film in much the same way as a score. With several songs slated for film releases in 2011, this looks to be a very rewarding year for Bullet Sage.

Continual evolution has resulted in Syn-G’s passionate and addictive style of contemporary music, and keeps his career interesting and challenging, always.
